Okay so this was our longest run to date.
Started out great. Made it 8 miles in good time. Then I had to head over to the Green Mountain Dr. apartment to do our check-out process. I showed up at 9 a.m. and waited until 9:30 a.m. til Mark showed up. Then it took another 15 minutes to do the check out. Then another 10 to make it back to the gym. It was horrible.
My initial 8 miles were just about 10 min miles. My final 8 miles took 15 min/mile. Terrible. Just terrible.
Either way it got done. Which is great. This up coming Sunday (8/14/11) we are doing 18 miles. That is just gross. Not fun. But it's got to be done. So it will be done.

4 Miles (Rec-Plex Loop // 7/27/2011)
I decided to get back onto concrete for this weeks short runs. I laced up my new *Rainbow* New Balance shoes and headed over to the Rec-Plex to see how a fast run would go.
Good news... I smoked it. Best personal time yet.
4 miles in 37:46
Felt great to not be in gym running.

Low Intensity
So today was low intensity. My mind, however, is never low intensity.
As I watched the people filter in and out of the fitness center I thought back to the beginning of my day which started with 32 oz. of water... then a big coffee. Then I went for a doughnut, but they were closed, so I got a McDouble (Ketchup only, of course).
And then I thought, I wonder what the obesity rate is in Branson, MO. Having lived in Colorado Springs, CO, one of the top 10 most fit cities in America, I can't help but wonder how low Branson is on that list. Yes there are a number of over weight visitors coming to indulge even more in the plethora of fine dining our proud city has to offer, but what about the local population. I bet it's not good. I bet it's rather grim. But whatever, live your life however you want. At least if I have a heart attack it will be while climbing Mt. Everest, or running a marathon, or swimming an ocean.
I told you I'm never low intensity, didn't I?
